What it does
A paper notebook that keeps up with you.
Everything here works in the app today. What is still to come is on the roadmap, and we say so.
- Notebooks and paper Notebooks on blank, lined, grid or dotted paper, with covers that show your pages.
- Pens and tools Apple Pencil with PencilKit on iPad; pen, highlighter and eraser in the browser.
- PDFs and files you write on Import PDFs, Word, PowerPoint and Excel files, and pictures, and write straight on the pages.
- Text, photos, stickers and tape Text boxes, photos, stickers, washi tape and study tape for active recall.
- Tabs and split view Several notebooks open in tabs, or two side by side.
- Search Search titles, typed text, PDF text and your handwriting.
- Audio synced to your notes Record a lecture or meeting; play it back and watch your notes fill in.
- Handwriting to text, and maths Turn handwriting into typed text, and handwritten formulas into LaTeX.
- Sync and export Saved to your account and synced across devices; export as vector PDF or PNG.
- On the roadmap AI summaries, share links, schools and teams, and more: not in the app yet. See the list.
Notebooks and PDFs
Your notebooks, your planners, in one library.
Start a notebook on blank, lined, grid or dotted paper, or import a PDF and write on it. Digital planners keep their links, so the month tabs still take you to the right page.
Made for studying
Hide the answer. Tap to check.
Lay study tape over an answer while you write. In reading mode, test yourself and tap the tape to reveal what is underneath. Search finds the page again, whether you typed it, imported it or wrote it by hand.
-
Study tape
Opaque tape over answers, definitions or dates. Tap to reveal in reading mode: active recall without flashcards.
-
Search that reads
Titles, typed text and PDF text everywhere; your handwriting on iPad, recognised on the device.
-
Split view
The textbook on one side, your notes on the other, each with its own tools.

Questions
Before you start.
Can I use it today?
Yes, in your browser. Start free opens the web app; create your Fibonacci account there and your first notebook is a tap away. The iPad app, with Apple Pencil, is in testing: ask us for early access.
Is the iPad app on the App Store?
Not yet. It is being tested with a small group first. Ask for early access and we will tell you when you can join; your notebooks from the web app will be there when you sign in.
What can I write with in the browser?
A pen in six colours and three widths, a highlighter and an eraser, with a mouse, a trackpad, a touch screen or a stylus. The iPad app adds Apple Pencil with the full set of PencilKit tools: pencil, fountain pen, watercolour, crayon, lasso and ruler.
Can I write on my own PDFs?
Yes. Import a PDF (a planner, a worksheet, lecture slides) and each of its pages becomes a page you can write on. Links inside the PDF still work when you switch to reading mode.
Where are my notes kept?
In your account, on our servers, so they sync to every device you sign in on. Imported PDFs and pictures are kept in object storage. You can export any notebook or page as a PDF at any time.
Does it do AI, handwriting-to-text or maths?
Yes: select your handwriting and turn it into a text box, or select a formula and get its LaTeX. On iPad, handwriting to text runs on the device; in the web app, and for maths, it uses AI credits (20 a month on every account). AI summaries of a notebook are on the roadmap, not in the app today.
